Tahirih Houston named Kathleen Weir, a senior associate at Baker Botts LLP, its 2014 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year on Sept. 20 at the 2014 Houston Gala, “Saving Lives, Celebrating Courage.”
Weir has demonstrated excellence in protecting immigrant women and girls from violence as a member of Tahirih Houston’s growing Pro Bono Attorney Network. Committed to her work and her clients, Weir provides outstanding representation on especially challenging and complex cases.
By donating her time and energy, she has made it possible for her courageous clients to achieve justice. Weir goes above and beyond her role as an advocate offering strategic advice and financial support as a Tahirih Houston Advisory Council Member, Bighearted Attorney Coordinator, and Gala Committee Member.
Weir is a graduate of Saint Louis University, has a graduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
