Houston Press called attention to the acute and growing immigration court backlog in Houston in an article published on March 22.

Tahirih Justice Center Senior Staff Attorney Samantha Del Bosque is concerned that many of her clients may now have to wait until 2019 or longer to see a judge.

“Three years out is too long,” she told Houston Press. “Evidence can go stale and experts who are academics tend to move around. For us, it creates a lot of hardships. It’s quite a mess.”
