Casey Swegman, Tahirih Forced Marriage Project Manager, authored a piece on the challenges survivors of gender-based violence encounter when they seek asylum. These challenges are exasperated by rapidly changing immigration law, including the Migrant Protection Protocols, also known as “Remain in Mexico,” which requires asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico for the duration of their asylum proceedings.
