The San Francisco Chronicle reported on the administration’s latest asylum restrictions, sending asylum seekers back to countries in the Northern Triangle. Richard Caldarone, Tahirih National Litigation Council, spoke about the burden that the new asylum restrictions placen asylum seekers. Caldarone commented:
“The obvious result … is that almost no one will satisfy the (government’s) standard. The proposal makes a mockery of our national obligation not to return asylum-seekers to violence and persecution”.
