Falls Church, VA —The Tahirih Justice Center, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting immigrant survivors of gender-based violence, is pleased to celebrate its 25th anniversary at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City, Virginia on May 13th, 2022, at 7 p.m. It has been 25 years since Tahirih opened its doors and has served more than 31,000 immigrant survivors of gender-based violence ever since. This event, Journey to Justice: Progress and Perseverance, will be a celebration of the 25 years of service and impact that Tahirih’s staff, supporters, and partners, have had on immigrant survivors of gender-based violence seeking safety in the United States.
The in-person event will be hosted by NBC4 news reporter, Juliana Valencia. The event’s program includes a live auction, survivor testimonies, musical entertainment and a special recognition of Tahirih Justice Center founder and former CEO, Layli Miller-Muro, for her vision in creating Tahirih and her years of service to immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. In addition to this special recognition, Tahirih will also honor some incredible individuals, firms, and companies who have been great partners in our work.

This gala will provide critical operating funds for Tahirih and bring together a diverse group of people to celebrate Tahirih’s resilient clients and the work to end gender-based violence for immigrant survivors.
