2004-2005 Impact Report
Our public policy advocacy victories took center stage in 2004-2005. Through the persistent advocacy for, and ultimate passage of, the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act, Tahirih Justice Center found itself on the national stage and in media outlets such as Newsweek, NBC Nightly News, Fox News, and The Washington Post advocating for the protection of so-called “mail-order brides.”

2003 Impact Report
In 2003, Tahirih served more than 700 women and girls and launched a groundbreaking campaign to protect so-called “mail-order-brides” from abuse and exploitation.

2002 Impact Report
Among its accomplishments in 2002, Tahirih has now assisted over 3,200 individuals in finding justice. This 2002 snapshot shows Tahirih clients are from the most underserved immigrant populations, primarily from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

With this annual report, we attempt to capture and convey the dizzying growth we experienced from 2000 to 2001. Having served women and girls fleeing human rights abuses for over five years, Tahirih Justice Center is now firmly established as a well-respected organization known for making a significant difference in the lives of abused women and girls and for contributing to the transformation of the justice system to provide for their protection.
