The Firm of the Year Award is presented annually to a firm that advances Tahirih’s mission to protect immigrant women and girls who refuse to be victims of violence.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to the complex problem of forced marriage in North America, but there are many ways to better protect victims. Experts underscored this message at a discussion on forced marriage April 1 at American University’s Washington College of Law.

The informational event, “Respect for Working People!,” will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Patterson High School in Baltimore, Md.
