They arrived with bags of toys and books, and they spent all morning painting, sorting stuffed animals, and decorating a room. Their work didn’t stop there. Over the next six weeks, they routinely returned to the room, each time brought more gits&38212;toyds, shelves, floor pillows, stuffed animals, and a gorgeous, handmade “I Spy” quilt sewn by members of the club’s quilting group.
The Exxon Mobil Spouses Club has created a children’s room at Tahirih Justice Center’s new Greater DC Office. The room is a bright, warm, and happy space for children to wait as their mothers consult with Tahirih staff. It even has a blackboard wall, where children sketch colorful drawings with chalk.
Tahirih sends a warm “thank you” to the Exxon Mobil Spouses Club for its hard work, generosity, and commitment to Tahirih’s clients and their children.
