On Wednesday, a federal judge ruled the former Attorney General’s decision in Matter of A-B- “unlawfully and arbitrarily imposed a heightened standard” on asylum seekers fleeing from gang and domestic violence.

“Today’s decision should send a clear signal to the administration: you cannot simply wave a pen and undo decades of carefully established law and policy—based on international standards and obligations—that permit individuals access to the asylum system,”said Archi Pyati, Tahirih Chief of Policy.

Tahirih submitted a brief in support of the plaintiffs in this case.
