Tahirih Justice Center Founder Layli Miller-Muro was one of few leaders selected to participate in the 2006-07 class of the Leadership Greater Washington (LGW), a membership organization that connects and challenges regional leaders for the purpose of improving the quality of life in the Greater Washington area.

LGW provides a platform for members to identify challenges in the region, drive dialogue and create connections that facilitate solutions. Leaders, representing the diversity of the Washington, DC community, become members through a highly competitive application process.

Members of each LGW class are required to participate in an initial year-long program of intensive study of the region and its issues. Throughout the year, LGW hosts a range of educational and social activities to strengthen the connections that generate power to lead and change.
