This NPR story features the findings of the Tahirih Justice Center’s new report on child marriage in the United States, “Falling Through the Cracks: How Laws Allow Child Marriage to Happen in Today’s America.” Tahirih’s report is the first-ever comprehensive analysis of provisions in all 50 states and Washington, DC that leave children vulnerable to the harms of forced and early marriage.
“The Tahirih Justice Center hopes that the report will spur lawmakers to correct the loopholes that they’ve identified in each state’s statutes,” said NPR’s Nurith Aizenman.
