Alex joined Tahirih in 2017. As Public Policy Manager, Alex coordinates Tahirih’s state-level legislative advocacy and supports both Tahirih staff and Tahirih’s partners who engage their state legislatures in pursuit of Tahirih’s policy goals. An expert on child marriage legislation, Alex leads Tahirih’s campaign to end child marriage in the United States. Prior to joining Tahirih as an intern in 2017, Alex worked as an interpreter and administrative assistant at Bayside Pediatrics in Annapolis and interned with the International Rescue Committee in Baltimore. Alex has studied and lived in Spain and Latin America.
