As a federally tax-exempt organization, we annually submit a 990 form to the IRS. It provides information on our organization’s mission, programs, and finances.

Tahirih Justice Center stands alone as a national organization that provides a wide range of free legal representation on behalf of women and girls from many different ethnic communities who courageously stand up to refuse gender-based violence. By scaling geographically, we will bring our skills and programs to new communities: providing thorough services to many more women and girls, while simultaneously enhancing the professional and social services delivered by partner organizations through training and education.

At the time of this publication, Tahirih had assisted nearly 15,000 women and children seeking protection from gender-based human rights abuses such as rape, female genital mutilation, domestic violence, human trafficking, “honor” crimes, and forced marriage.
