But countless women and girls are standing up to demand justice, and Tahirih has now helped 10,000 immigrant women and children access justice since 1997.

2004-2005 Impact Report

April 25th, 2006Our public policy advocacy victories took center stage in 2004-2005. Through the persistent advocacy for, and ultimate passage of, the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act, Tahirih Justice Center found itself on the national stage and in media outlets such as Newsweek, NBC Nightly News, Fox News, and The Washington Post advocating for the protection of so-called “mail-order brides.”
