A bride and groom who are 15 and almost 40… Why are judges letting children marry adults in the United States?

In the United States today, thousands of children under 18 have recently taken marital vows — mostly girls married to adult men, often with approval from local judges.

A determined advocate for immigrant women and girls with a rich history of service at Tahirih has been recognized for her role in a pioneering campaign to end forced marriage in the United States.
